The Centre for Mental Health and Addiction is Canada's largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world's leading research centres. This organization's website provides an abundance of information on mental health and addiction and is an excellent resource for clients.

Colchester Sexual Assault Centre
The Colchester Sexual Assault Centre (CSAC) is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to strengthening, empowering, and supporting survivors of sexualized violence (sexual assault, sexual abuse and sexual trauma) in a gender-equitable, compassionate environment. They provide numerous community programs, services and programs.
Kids Help Phone
To access this service, call 1-800-668-6868 or text 686868. Kids Help Phone is a national, 24-hour, bilingual and anonymous phone counselling, web counselling and referral service for children and youth.
Nova Scotia Provincial Mental Health and Addictions Crisis Line
To access this service during a mental health crisis, call 1-888-429-8167. The Provincial Mental Health and Addictions Crisis Line provides crisis intervention for children, youth and adults experiencing a mental health crisis or mental distress.
The service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to support callers who present with suicidal thoughts, self-harming thoughts or behaviours, overwhelming anxiety, difficulty coping with distress, psychotic or distorted thinking, depression, substance use difficulties or any other self-identified mental health concerns. Crisis is self-defined by the individual calling for support.
The crisis line also supports families, friends, community agencies and others to manage mental health crisis through education, outreach and consultation.
Hope for Wellness Help Line
The Hope for Wellness Helpline is available to all Indigenous people across Canada. Experienced and culturally competent counsellors are reachable by telephone and online ‘chat’ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 1-855-242-3310
